Common Questions

How many Employees can you Fingerprint on-site?

Biometrics Mobile is equipped for high-volume on-site Live Scan events and can comfortably process 100+ individuals in a single day.

We work efficiently to keep your event organized and moving while maintaining accuracy and professionalism with every applicant. For larger groups, we can coordinate the schedule and workflow in advance to help minimize employee downtime and keep the fingerprinting process running smoothly.

Have more than 100 people? Contact us to discuss your group size, location, and scheduling needs. We can develop an on-site plan tailored to your organization.

Do your employees need individual appointments & What Live Scan form does each employee need?

No. Individual appointments are not necessary for on-site Live Scan events.

Simply provide us with a list of the employees who need to be fingerprinted, and we’ll call them down the list one at a time.

This keeps the process organized, minimizes disruption to your workplace, and allows employees to return to work as quickly as possible.

Your employer or requesting agency will provide you with the Request for Live Scan Service form containing the information required for your fingerprint submission.

Please complete your portion of the form in advance and have it ready on the day of your Live Scan.

Please bring a current, valid, unexpired government-issues photo ID to your Live Scan appointment.

Having your form completed and ready helps us keep the process quick, organized, and running smoothly for everyone.

What does your company need to provide for an on-site live scan event?

Very little! We bring the Live Scan equipment and everything needed to conduct your on-site fingerprinting event.

Your company simply needs to provide:

  • A desk or table approximately 3 feet long

  • Access to a standard electrical outlet

  • A small, suitable area where we can comfortably process your employees

That’s it. We handle the rest.

Our goal is to make on-site Live Scan as simple and convenient as possible for your organization while keeping your employees on-site, productive, and moving through the process efficiently.

Most Live Scan appointments take about 10–15 minutes to complete. After your fingerprints are electronically submitted, processing times can vary depending on the California DOJ, FBI, and the requesting agency.

Many results are processed within a few days, but some may take longer if additional review is required. Biometrics Mobile submits your fingerprints promptly, but we cannot control or guarantee the agency’s processing time.

How long does processing take?

Can I reuse a Previous Live Scan?

Generally, no. Live Scan results are sent directly to the specific agency or organization that requested your background check and typically cannot be transferred or reused for a different agency, employer, license, or application.

If you’re unsure whether you need a new Live Scan, check with the requesting agency before scheduling.

Who receives my Results?

Your background check results are not sent to Biometrics Mobile. Results are sent directly by the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and, when required, the FBI to the agency or organization that requested your Live Scan.

Biometrics Mobile collects and electronically submits your fingerprints—we do not receive, view, or have access to your background check results.

Can Biometrics Mobile See my Background Results?

No. Biometrics Mobile does not receive, view, or have access to your background check results.

We securely capture and electronically submit your fingerprints for processing. Your results are sent directly by the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and, when applicable, the FBI to the authorized requesting agency.

Your background check results remain private between you and the appropriate authorized agency.

What happens if my fingerprints are rejected?

If your fingerprints are rejected by the California Department of Justice (DOJ) or FBI due to fingerprint quality, don’t worry—we can help.

Contact Biometrics Mobile and provide your rejection notice or ATI number so we can determine the next step. If a new fingerprint submission is required, we’ll work with you to get your fingerprints retaken and resubmitted.

Please note that not all rejections are related to fingerprint quality, so the appropriate next step will depend on the reason for the rejection.
